Admission Requirements
A bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university with a Didactic Program in Dietetics (DPD) Verification Statement or a Declaration of Intent to Complete Degree and/or CADE Minimum Academic Requirements is required for admission.

Emphasis
This program has three areas of emphasis - General, Medical Nutrition Therapy and Food Service System Management. Interns are required to complete all three emphases before graduation.

Date of Admission
Internship begins in September shortly after Labor Day.

Number of Intern Positions
Five per year.

Work Responsibilities
The work week is 40 hours or more. Interns will be required to work on various shifts, with the earliest beginning at 5:00 a.m. and the latest ending at 9:00 p.m.

Some weekend work will be assigned, in which case equal time off will be given at a later date.

Holidays/Vacation
There are nine holidays and one week of vacation.

Living Accommodations
Housing is not available at the Medical Center. Interns are to find their own living accommodations.

Meals
Free meals are provided.

Transportation
Bus service to the Medical Center is available. However, since affiliations are located throughout the Los Angeles area, it is recommended that the intern have access to a car as there may be no direct bus connections.

Dress
Professional attire is required for most rotations. Each intern must have at least one pair of safety shoes.

Health Insurance
Each intern should provide for his/her own coverage as none is available through the Medical Center.

Worker's Compensation
Each intern will be covered for Worker's Compensation.

Professional Liability Insurance
Interns are required to purchase liability insurance available through The American Dietetic Association.
